The moon, an old friend, rides the indigo sea above
and lights my way
The stars, dear companions, ride that same ocean
And remind me of my purpose and my dreams
The light within and all of its products
Sometimes strangers, sometimes friends,
Can divert from ways and dreams
And confuse
And cause me to stray
To explore humanly pursuits instead
And with each pass around the sun
It gets harder to ignore the light
And when it outshines the moon and stars
It’s frightening
